Dear Parents,
We would like to introduce you to Seven Oaks Academy, a unique child care center located in Manassas, Virginia established in 1988. The purpose of our program is to provide a healthy, secure, loving, nurturing and creative environment for children ages 2 through 12 years. We pride ourselves as being a high quality early childhood program that provides the correct environment to promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. Our philosophy of considering and meeting the needs of each child as an individual is accomplished through professional teaching techniques and programs, creative curriculum planning and the utilization of community helpers and facilities.
We are very pleased you are considering our program at Seven Oaks Academy for your preschool child. We have a wonderful year planned and we are excited about the many changes that will be taking place within our quality child care center.
We have always had a thematic curriculum, and our highly qualified teachers have received praise on many occasions from local schools on how well they prepare our children for kindergarten. With that in mind, we will continue with using themes as a teaching tool, however, we’ve decided to change the scope of our themes to be literacy based. A significant portion of our learning plans will be based on a different book each month. In addition, all preschool classes will be focusing on “Letter of the Week,” and the children will be learning a finger play or song to go along with the letter. Each classroom will have developmentally appropriate practice objectives, and opportunities will be available for the children to learn and explore at their own stage of development. Furthermore, the teachers will be using assessment tools throughout the year, to enable us to inform the parents of their child’s progress and continuously evaluate our curriculum to ensure it is meeting the developmental needs of each child.
We are continually making improvements to our facility to further enrich your child’s experience here at Seven Oaks. As most of you have already noticed, we have purchased new computers to accommodate many new software programs, in addition to some of our old favorites! We also have installed more security cameras throughout the building to ensure your child’s safety and give you a peace of mind.
We also have added Private Kindergarten to the wide variety of programs we offer. The curriculum is designed for the children to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science, Spanish, and physical education to comply with the Virginia Standards of Learning. It is a full day program, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. Before and after school care is included in the weekly tuition. If you are interested, please feel free to speak with someone in the front office.

Full and Part Time Preschool: Our curriculum is designed to comply with the literacy and mathematic standards outlined in the Virginia Department of Education’s “Foundation Blocks for Early Learning”.

Before and After School Care: Weekly schedules of exciting enrichment activities and daily lesson plans spark interest and encourage creativity. We currently provide transportation to sixteen area elementary schools.

Junior Kindergarten: Part Time, half–day program specifically designed to better prepare your child for kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten: Licensed, full-day program with a small teacher-to-student ratio. Our curriculum is designed for the children to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science, Spanish, and physical education to comply with the Virginia Standards of Learning.
Our purpose is to provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment in which your child can grow and learn. We will continue to strive to make sure each child feels happy, relaxed, and secure. As always, we’ll do our best to consider and meet the needs of each child as an individual. We are confident with our professional teaching staff that your child will thrive in our creative environment.
